Traveled to Newport, Oregon to view two lighthouses. & Aquina Head, built in 1873, a 93 foot structure that stands on a cliff putting 162 feet above the frothy Pacific and the tallest in Oregon. Today it is electrically lit and automated.
Yaquina Bay just before the Yaquina Bay bridge on 101, the second oldest light house on the Oregon coast. It was only in service for 3 years from1871 to 1874. It was replaced by the brighter Yaquina Head lighthouse above.
