This coast of Oregon far exceeds my imagination of what a beautiful coastline would look like. It is by far one of the most beautiful areas I have ever visited in the world.
I was up early today and drove over to Tillamook and the Cape Mears State Park. Viewed and photographed the Cape Mears Lighthouse. The coastline here is very rugged and about 200 feet above the dramatic Pacific surf.
Cape Mears Lighthouse was built in 1886 and cost $60,000 at the time. It’s one of a kind, colored fresnel lens , only 38 feet above the ground but on a 200 ft cliff sends its light signal 20 miles out to the horizon.
